As for favorite cookie recipe, peanut butter chocolate chunk. Easy enough, you preferred PB cookie recipe, toss in chocolate chunks (or chips, doesn't matter), bake as normal (well, you have to squish with hands instead of a fork if you want them to flatten right, but still)
These sound weird, but they're amazing: saltine toffee. You have to try it - http://www.cdkitchen.com/recipes/recs/30/Chocolate_Saltine_Toffee59994.shtml
My favorite cookie is what we call nut balls. They're sort of like "wedding cookies", except in the shape of a ball. I need to make some of them!

Old fashioned cut out sugar cookies with buttercream frosting. We use an old recipe that calls for powdered sugar instead of granulated sugar and almond flavoring-it gives the cookies this little bite that is so yummy! I think my favorite clutch is the bright pink and green on the bottom. Thank you:)!!

My great grandma used to make everyone a gingerbread boy/girl with their name written across the top. That was my favorite! I love all of these clutches, perfect for crochet hooks too! Most fav lower left corner and upper second from the right!
Here's my favorite, almost cookie, recipe for Christmas:
Toffee (Christmas Crunch)
1 ¾ cups sugar
½ cup light corn syrup
¼ cup water
1 cup margarine or butter (2 sticks)
8 ounces slivered blanched almonds, lightly toasted and finely chopped
2 1-ounce squares unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
2 1-ounce squares semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
1 teaspoon shortening
In heavy 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, heat sugar, corn syrup, and ¼ cup water to boiling, stirring occasionally. Stir in margarine or butter. Set candy thermometer in place and continue cooking, stirring frequently, until temperature reaches 300 degrees F or hard-crack stage (when small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water separates into hard and brittle threads), about 20 minutes.
Remove saucepan from heat. Reserve ½ cup chopped almonds. Stir remaining almonds into hot syrup. Immediately pour mixture into lightly greased 15 ½” by 10 ½” jelly-roll pan; spread evenly. Cool in pan on rack.
Prepare chocolate glaze: In heavy, small saucepan over low heart, heat chocolate and shortening until melted, stirring occasionally. Remove saucepan from heat; cool slightly.
Remove candy in one piece from pan to cutting board. Spread chocolate over candy; sprinkle with reserved almonds, pressing them gently into chocolate. Set candy aside to allow glaze to set, about 1 hour. Break candy into pieces. Store in layers, separated by waxed paper, in tightly covered container to use up within 2 weeks. Makes about 1 ¼ pounds candy.
Can you say YUMMY!!
Thanks for the great giveaway!

Love this, perfect for my hooks, and we can choose color,so lovely of you.My favorites are chocolate and ginger brad cookies.
Happy holidays!!
My favorite treat is not really a cookie, but I always make them to add to my cookie give away trays because they are bulky and fill a lot of space for a limited amount of money and time. Besides that, they're great. They're called Haystacks and they are simple to make – large marshmallows, dipped in melted caramel, then rolled in Rice Krispies.
Spritz cookies! With sugar, not sprinkles.
One super successful cookie I did was a minty surprise cookie - so easy too! Take premade sugar cookie dough and slice it thinly, then sandwich a thin mint/grasshopper cookie between two dough rounds and bake. Simple, and they come together so quickly...and they're delicious! Great clutches!
Great giveaway, thank you. I love anything chocolate.
leavengs(at)peak(dot)org

Gingerbread cookies. I like the green/black diamonds
I eat all cookies all the time, so I don't have a specific "Christmas cookie" per se. My in-laws always request French macarons whenever I visit for Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings, so I suppose that's fairly close to a holiday tradition. And, hey, I did indeed write a post about making:
