My favorite part of Christmas is our Christmas Tree. I used to love decorating it myself, placing each ornament just so. Now my daughters decorate it and I just love watching them trying to find the perfect place for each ornament. Then we get to sit back and enjoy!

That stocking is so cute! There are so many things I love about Christmas that it's hard to pick a favorite, but I love spending time with family and watching our favorite Christmas specials.

Very sweet! My favorite Christmas tradition is having a huge family gathering on Christmas Eve, rotating between homes each year. We would have a fun meal (my fav: lasagna!) play guitars and sing, eat endless treats and then open gifts from our family while we were all together. Much of the family has moved on now but those of us who remain try to carry on!

Joffre said...

Decorating the tree has got to be my favorite.

My grandma always gave her grandkids two presents: one with baked goods (including her amazing snickerdoodles), and one that she bought at a store. We would always shake them, so that we could open the baked goods gift first--that was the one we really wanted!

I love that stocking!!!! My favorite tradition is just getting together with family, since we travel year round.

I love love love eating tourtiere on Christmas Eve and watching a movie with my hubby and a glass of wine after the kiddies have gone to bed. We worked hard to come up with traditions for our little family now that we're no longer travelling at Christmas. . too hard with two young kids!

We leave cookies for Santa and food for the reinder. Just seeing the kids around the holidays, is what I most enjoy.

Beautiful stocking!

I love finding oranges in my stocking.

Favorite Christmas memory was the mini boxes of cereal santa would always leave for us.

Aleisha said...

My whole family (almost 40 of us) get together at my grandmother's for food, singing and just spending time together. The little ones are the only one who get presents at this gathering. Then, we all sit in a circle and hold hands and we all get a chance to say at least 2 things we are thankful for during this year.

Thanks for sharing this giveaway with us!

My hubby and I started a tradition when we had our first Christmas. We take turns getting a heart ornament for our tree. Now our tree is covered with hearts, each a remembrance of a previous Christmas.
Love your whoville stocking!

Trulyana said...

I love your stocking, it is amazingly beautiful and vibrant.
My earliest memory of Christmas was when I was in Portugal. (I was born and grew up there, but now live in the UK.
I think I must have been really small and I sneaked into the kitchen/dining room at the time where the Christmas Tree was and ate the alcoholic chocolate decorations off the tree! heehee definetly a most memorable experience, as I continued to sneak in every Christmas and do the same.

PinkLady said...

What a fab stocking!!

My favourite memory is one of waking in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve and seeing Santa himself walking towards me carrying a tray of freshly baked cookies! Obviously I now realise this was some sort of dream or excitement induced hallucination but I believed it really happened for years after! Oh, the magic of festive fantasy! xx

FlowerMomma said...

what a cute stocking. I love waking up early in the morining to the bright lights of the christmas tree.

My Favorite Christmas memory?

My dad was a military man, and worked on secret military projects during the Cold War. He was often gone from home with little notice and for long periods of time.

Daddy was called away the week before Christmas the year I was in third grade. Mom, my two little sisters and I were so sure that he would be back in time for Christmas Day. The first few days flew by, as we kept busy baking cookies, playing games and waiting for Daddy. As the week went on, our spirits sank. This was back in the “olden days”, before mobile phones, email or the internet even existed for the general public, so there were no phone calls or messages to let us know what was going on. We went to church on Christmas Eve, then came home and sadly climbed into our beds. We just knew that Daddy was going to miss Christmas.

Then, in the middle of the night, Mom woke us up. “Hurry!”, she said, “Put on your boots and coats, lets go!” This was nothing unusual – remember, this was during the Cold War, we lived on a military base that had missile silos , and my Dad was involved in lots of secret development type things. We played War Games all the time, diving into shelters at all hours of the day and night, storing food and water, and practicing bomb raids. Mom bundled us into the car and we headed towards the middle of the base. She parked at the staging building on the flight line, pulled us all out of the car, and hurried us over to the gate. There was a C-130 on the tarmac, tail down and lots of airmen shuffling palettes back and forth. The guard let us in, and Mom started running towards the airplane. There, climbing out the cargo hold was…DADDY!!! He made it back, just in time for Christmas.

My favorite christmas memory so far was last year as it was my son's first one. Seeing his pure delight around the presents was so wonderful. It's also when we learned that he was a natural comedian. My brother sneezed and my little guy copied him and it was so funny. That day anytime someone sneezed, Kestan would repeat it and make everyone laugh. He learned what it feels like to make others laugh and he continues to be a great joy. I can't even imagine what this year will bring!

Your stocking is incredible!!

My favorite Christmas tradition and memory are new jammies. We always got to open them on Christmas eve because my mom wanted us to look good in the picture of Christmas morning ( of course at the time we didn't know that). Also making candy with my great grandma!

I love spending all those special times with my husband and children...one of my favorite traditions is going to the tree farm and picking out our tree....they started naming our tree last year....so that is also fun.....I also am loving celebrating advent this year....just remember the reason we are celebrating--the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Madalyn Riggins said...

My favorite memory is of my siblings and I sleeping in the same room Christmas eve, then waking up together.

Katie said...

That is so pretty and girly and would match my daughter's room perfectly. It would looks so cute hanging from her toddler bed!

Okay onto a favorite tradition. Growing up my brother and I always drew a picture of something nice we did during December and added it to our Gift for Jesus box under the tree. It was just an old shoe box wrapped up but a few days ago we got it out of my parent's basement and it was so fun to see the 80s wrapping paper and read through the years of "gifts" we'd left for Jesus. Too funny, one year my brother said he didn't kick me when I was mean to him and it had a big X over it and a new nicer message on the back after my mom saw it and made him redo it.

This year we're going to start the tradition again with our 3 year old, the same age both me and my brother were when we started.

My favorite Christmas memory was last year. I had an emergency Appendectomy on Christmas Eve, and as a result we stayed home as a family on Christmas day. We had a quite, but enjoyable day with our girls which, we discovered, was a very nice way to spend Christmas. We enjoyed it so much that we plan on doing it again this year!

Each year, my husband and I select a tree ornament to represent the events of the year. We also allow each of our little daughters to pick one for their own. That way, in later years, we can know what was happening in our lives at that point. I label them with the date.
It's fun to reminisce each year about Christmases Past.

Your stocking is wonderful! Thank you for the opportunity to enter.

LOVE it, so cute. I have to say my favorite holiday memory is when we would all stay at my grandma's house Christmas Eve and all the kids would sleep in the basement (contain the chaos right?) and when someone would wake up, we'd start getting each other up and asking if it was still too early to go get our parents. Eventually we couldn't contain ourselves anymore and we'd all run up stairs to wake up our still groggy parents so we could open our presents. Those were the days.

As a child, my mother would tell us that Santa would not come to our house until the 1000 piece round Christmas puzzle set up on the dining room table was complete. Of course, I believed it. Once I was grown, she told me that the puzzle diversion was the only way that she could keep us occupied and not driving her bonkers with anticipation of the BIG DAY. My favorite thing about this time of year are my mom's carmel rolls. She only makes them on Christmas and they are the most delious amazing things anyone has ever put in their mouth. She has to let the dough raise and that seems like a painstaking long time. Then she puts the carmel sauce on top and then you have to wait for them to cool. Tortue! Once they have cooled all you want to do is gobble them up then it is over and you have to wait for next Christmas.

Our family started a tradition when we were pretty small. We all put things in everyone else's stockings. We've continued this practice for over 30 years.

Thanks for the chance to win the cute stocking.

That's fantastic! One of my fave memories is going out to the Christmas tree farm late one year, and there were no nice trees left, so we ended up with what we called the "Christmas bush" - short and fat, and pretty funny.
Thanks!

That is adorable! Two favorite Christmas traditions around here are 1) watching a VHS tape of old Christmas specials (taped years ago!) with the kids, and 2) my dad reading the Christmas story out of the Bible to all the grandchildren on Christmas Eve. Very cozy!

We've started a tradition in our own family to have gigantic breakfast on Christmas morning instead of Christmas Day dinner. I like that. It's the only day I get to eat bacon. Can't wait!!

Cute stocking!

My favorite tradition is one my grandma used to do with me as a child. We open what she called, #1's on christmas eve. They were ALWAYS pajamas. As a kid, I would hope it was going to be a toy every year! It took me a while to realize that it was always going to be pajamas. Made nice photos christmas morning for the photo album though to have everyone in matching pj's! Sneaky :)

Let's see. I think one of my favorite traditions is when my 6 yr. old little guy helps with the cookies and baking of the gingerbread boys. Nothing like putting on an apron and getting down and dirty. We love making cookies during this time of year. They make great gifts and the house smells are amazing.

This little stocking is adorable!! I love this style! I always loved to spend the night at my grandparents house on Christmas Eve and then open our stockings as soon as we woke up. We had to wait until everyone else was there to open presents, but the stockings we could!

There are some pretty amazing traditions that people have. It was really interesting to read them, and more than a few sounded a little bit familiar.
I think that my favorite Christmas tradition is making Christmas cookies. Ever December since I was born, my family gets together with a couple that my parents have known since college. Their children are almost like siblings to my sister and I, but they live more than 6 hours away, so we rarely see them. For one night in December, we all sit down, get our hands dirty, and catch up on the year. Plus, we end up making enough cookies to last us and all our acquaintances until Valentine's Day!

my parents didn't have enough money for presents so they made us things-when we came home from school, my mom was burning some candles so we wouldn't smell the cookies she'd made us.

Very cute stocking! I made my first one yesterday, and have two more to make before Christmas, so maybe I will win yours and make one more only! I find Christmas is finding its magical for me once more, now that my daughter is three. Cliche but true that it is a re-visitation to joy and excitement of a Christmas season through a child's eyes. Have a great one!
